It is actually slim as well..hehe..
Well. I’m gonna review this player for you people who happens to be interested to buy it.
I would also like to mention that the box doesn’t comes with user manual or any software tools.
I came across this seller asking me to download from their website but it was a bit surprising as the box do written that it comes with user manual. Well, I just don’t bother too much as long as it can be downloaded, I’m ok with it as I considered myself an advance user..haha..
Here is the look of it :-
1)

2) The box comes with 1GB MP4 Player, Silicon casing, Ear Phone, USB cable, and a power adapter that can use for USB cable.

3) The player has a very awkward ear phone jack connected to the side of the player itself. To me this Is really not comfortable and ergonomic at all unless you’re left handed.
For right hander, this device really blocking your hand from pressing the button while holding it. Imagine your thumb need to navigate from right side to press the buttons and obviously got blocked by the ear phone connected to it. Oh my..

4) On the upper part of the player, it has a power on/off button. It’s unlike hand phone where you press the button down to on/off but it is using a slide button mechanism to the left/right and this can easily slide unexpectedly. Hmn..china design problem?

5) This is the look from below of the player. It has a strap hanger in the middle just in case you might slip the player off. Of course the strap is not part of the deal.
Just beside the strap hanger is the USB connectivity cable port.
Oh ya..before I forgot. The menu button is super hard and you can hear the click sound when press on it.
It’s not touch pad as well and you definitely won’t get any similar to iPod! Haha!
Hey..it;s a cheap device and what do you expect more ?

6) This is the look from the back of the player.

7) Ok. Here is how the menus look like.

Obviously the menu doesn’t look as tempting as other branded ones and the user friendliness is not there either.
Lets browse thru the menu options 1 by 1.
A) Music menu screen
B) Music player screen
C) AMV Player screen. This is the movie player but it wasn’t as what you expected as the player only plays AMV movie format and not others.
For people who doesn’t know or not familiar with AMV player, it is a player format used mostly by Chinese MP4 player.
No. Don’t ever believe those sellers out there selling this player with the specification stating that it can play AVI, MOV, MPEG, and etc.
The only thing you can do is to download the AMV player conversion software and convert the other movie format to AMV format.
Time consuming isn’t it? Well, luckily the conversion software can convert quite fast and a movie that has 450MB of size took me about 1/2 an hour to convert.
D) Record menu is actually a voice recording function and the recording doesn’t sound great at all. It’s quite blurry and you may shout out loud to record a clearer sound.
E) Photo menu has the functionality to view photo and this one just has nothing to shout about as the display is not really tempting at all.
F) Setup menu has quite a number of setup in it but the greatest part of this menu is the “Firmware Upgrade” option. The reason I touch specifically on this is because it has the most important part of its functions. As we all know that MP3/MP4 player needed obviously a computer to connect to it in order to transfer files across. Without this, the player is of no use. One greatest thing that I’ve found upon plugging in the USB cable to my computer is that it doesn’t really detect any sign of connectivity at all in my machine! To my surprise as I’ve waited for more than 30 seconds, nothing happened and the user manual stated that I only need to wait for 5 seconds to get the connectivity signal. If you’re a normal user then you may find no way to connect to your computer at all but you may call the seller to sort out this problem for you(if they entertain you). For me, I manage to found out a way and that is to use the “Firmware Upgrade” option to transfer files across. Curious ? Well I still don’t have the exact answer to it but I’m able to establish a connection and transfer files across by using this menu option. Strange..
G) E-Book menu has only 1 functionality and that is to read text file. This function will not be able to read the pdf or any other e-book format.
H) Telephone menu allows you to store contacts but until now I still can’t figure out how to use this as it only has import/export of .BIN file and I still don’t know what software is being used to create the BIN file for this function to import in.
I) This is the sample AMV movie screen while playing one of the movie.
J) This is the sample of E-Book (text file) being displayed. Hard to read thou.
K) FM radio menu is actually useless to me as I still can’t hear any sound from any of the stations and I’ve been to a few places to try out. I’ve even change the frequency and reception level but it was of no use.
L) Game menu has a few games like Boxman, Bricks,Winmine, and Color bead.
Overall, the sound is not great at all and you can imagine FM radio sound quality. Besides that, the user friendliness is not there at all and it took me some time just to understand how the device work things out. Battery is ok and it really perform up to the minimum of 4 hours plus.
Well, I guess for this device I’ll just give a rating of 3 out of 10.
